Ostravar Brewery brief history Ostravar is a beer typical of the City of Ostrava and surrounding area. Its brewing tradition goes back to the year 1897, when the Czech Joint Stock Brewery in Moravská Ostrava (today's Ostravar Brewery) was founded. The first batch of beer was brewed one year later. Since that time Ostravar has been brewing a beer whose character is typical for this region - from the highest quality raw ingredients, according to recipes that are a well-kept secret, using traditional brewing procedures backed by several generations of experienced brewmasters. The result: a beer of exceptional qualities and taste, recognised by a number of major awards.
